Elpitiya creates record for highest ever rubber price
Hitting a record of Rs 700 for Latex Crepe 1X, Elpitiya Plantations PLC, managed by Aitken Spence, announced that 55 - 2000 kilos of Latex Crepe 1X from Devitura Estate was sold at Rs. 700 per kilo at the weekly public auction organized by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday the 15th of February. It is the highest economy price ever recorded for Latex Crepe 1X rubber in Sri Lankan history.
