Cotton Rises Above $2 for First Time as Supply Tightens on Chinese Demand
Cotton topped $2 in New York for the first time ever and rose to a record in Zhengzhou on increasing demand from China and after Australia, the fourth-largest exporter, lowered its production estimate. China's textile mills increased yarn output 14 percent to 27 million metric tons last year, a government commission said last month. Australia pared its output estimate to 839,000 tons on Feb. 15,
