Australian sugar production at its lowest in a decade
The Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics and Sciences says the price for sugar will ease through the remainder of 2011 and into 2012, as production in countries like Brazil and India recovers. Over the past several years, the sugar price has been volatile. Brazilian sugar production is expected to rise 8 per cent this season, and in 2011-12 the stockpile of sugar is forecast
